Abstract

Purpose: to develop, implement, and evaluate a financial dashboard-based learning medium for contextual economics learning in workplace settings, providing an authentic learning environment that supports financial literacy and data-driven decision-making through simulated financial data.

Method: this study adopted a research and development (R&D) approach based on the ADDIE model. A financial dashboard was developed using simulated operational financial data and implemented in a limited workplace learning setting. Data were collected through observations, participants' worksheets, and questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods to assess the usability and initial feasibility of the developed learning media.

Findings: the developed financial dashboard is feasible for contextual economics learning in workplace settings. The dashboard enabled participants to better understand budgeting, budget variance, cash flow, and operational financial decision-making through simulated financial data. Participants also reported that the visual presentation and guided analysis improved the clarity and relevance of the learning process.
