Purpose: to develop a web-based inventory system for Toko Hardi Grosir Manisan and evaluate its functional performance and usability using black-box testing and the system usability scale (SUS).
Method: this study employed a user-centered design approach within the human–computer interaction (HCI) framework, involving user requirements analysis, interface design, system development, functional testing using black-box testing, and usability evaluation using the system usability scale (SUS). The collected data were analyzed descriptively to assess system functionality and usability.
Findings: showed that all 13 black-box testing scenarios passed, achieving a 100% pass rate. The SUS evaluation yielded an average score of 77.0, exceeding the benchmark of 68 and indicating above-average perceived usability based on the illustrative dataset.
Implications: a practical solution for improving inventory management in small retail businesses by reducing reliance on manual records, facilitating stock monitoring, and improving inventory reporting.
Originality: lies in integrating web-based inventory system development, black-box testing, and SUS-based usability evaluation within the specific operational context of a confectionery wholesale business, Toko Hardi Grosir Manisan.
